Following a complaint by Air India air hostess Komal Singh who says she was molested and assaulted by two pilots on board a flight from Sharjah to New Delhi, the management of Air India has suspended flight purser Amit Khanna and pilot Commander Ranbir Arora. Komal Singh had already registered an FIR with the Delhi police charging two Air India pilots with molestation and assault during a mid-air scuffle. Komal had also sought help from the National Commission for Women to pursue her case. The pilot Ranbir Arora, co-pilot Aditya Chopra, the airhostess and a flight purser Amit Khanna were earlier de-rostered by the airline management which took a serious view of the scuffle between the cockpit crew and some cabin crew members on Saturday. The pilots claimed that flight attendant Amit Khanna manhandled the co-pilot leaving him with a bleeding lip. But, Amit said it is a lie, claiming he never hit anyone. The pilots also said flight attendant Amit used unparliamentary language. But, one other member of the cabin crew has come out in Amit’s defence saying that he acted respectfully. The pilots also claimed that airhostess Komal acted unprofessionally. But, Komal said she was molested after which cabin crew member Amit was abused by the pilots for defending her, reported Times Now. Air India is expected to table its report on the brawl between cabin crew and pilots on the Sharjah-Lucknow-Delhi flight. The police have questioned the pilots and the crew concerned. Delhi police is also expected to begin its investigation into the case analysing the flight recordings and reviewing the transcripts of the questioning. The flight had 106 passengers and a seven-member crew on board the Airbus A-320.
