GPS extension at Hovishe village DIMAPUR: The one room extension of Government Primary School Hovishe village was inaugurated on October 8 by ADC Niuland –cum- chairperson block level committee SSA, Anenla Sato. The inaugural programme was attended by DIS Niuland, EBRC co-coordinator, SIS Niuland, teachers, DBs and GBs of the village. RJD president’s plea on prices DIMAPUR: Rashtriya Janata Dal state president, Khetovi Kinny has said prices of essential prices were fixed by wholesaler and retailers by their own will in Dimapur. In a release he stated that prices of essential commodities in Dimapur were higher than that of Imphal, which lifted the commodities from Dimapur. He also said authorities should keep vigil so that price rise does not become a permanent habit. Aphüemi Sümi Küqhakulu Kohima DIMAPUR: Aphüemi Sümi Küqhakulu Kohima (ASKK) has informed that it would be holding executive and village representatives meeting shortly, for which, villages who are yet to forward names of village representative have been informed to submit it to ASKK. NCSU general meeting DIMAPUR: Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) head office Kohima has convened a general meeting on October 14 at 11 am at NCSU conference hall relating to non-payment of pending bills. DC Kohima informs on arm license DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Kohima Bei-u Angami has notified all holders of arms license issued by office of DC Kohima between March 5, 1990 and March 2005 to deposit arms license to Special Investigation Team (SIT) before October 30 at South police station, Kohima from 10 am onwards on all working days. It further said the licenses if not deposited and verified within the specified period would be treated as invalid and cancelled. Kyong collegiate meet DIMAPUR: Kyong (Lotha) Collegiate Meet organized by youth department of Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur will be held on October 10 at Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur under the theme ‘Determine Your Future’. DHO Wokha, Dr Elithung Humtsoe will grace the function as chief guest. KGPO general meeting DIMAPUR: Kuhuboto Ghakhu Public Organisation has convened a public general meeting on October 9 at KGPO hall, Kuhuboto town at 10am. All GBs, public leaders of Kuhuboto Ghakhu and KGPO members have been requested to attend the meeting. CMCF interview for Longleng, Wokha DIMAPUR: Interview of CMCF candidates of Longleng district will be conducted on October 20 and 21 at DC’s conference hall, Longleng at 10am. All candidates have been requested to submit original documents at the interview. Interview for selection of Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund beneficiaries for 2009-10 for Wokha district would be conducted on October 15 for Serial No.1 to 70 and October16 for Serial No.71 to 139 at 10.30am in DC’s Conference Hall Wokha. Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Wepretso Mero has informed all applicants to produce all requisite documents at the interview. He further informed that no separate calling letters would be issued in this regard. Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union has convened a meeting on October 10 at the residence of union banker, Notun Basti at 11am. All advisors, executives and committees members of the union’s 35th general conference have been requested to attend the meeting. Awohumi Students Union KOHIMA: Awohumi Students Union will hold an emergency meeting on October 17 at 10.30 am at the resident of President Shikavi PWD, Kohima. All the office bearers and members are to attend the meeting. Peren District Referee’s Association Kohima: General meeting of Peren District Referee’s Association will be held on October 12 at 10.00 am at Circuit house , Peren to discuss the matter relating to the 3rd Peren district Legislators Football trophy, 2009. All members are to attend the meeting. Kuda Razha Angamipfüko Krotho DIMAPUR: Kuda Razha Angamipfüko Krotho (KRAK) has convened its 42nd annual meeting on October 10, 10 am at Virazouma. V. TLBA youth meet DIMAPUR: Tuli Lenden Baptist Arogo (TLBA), youth department has convened its 4th meet from October 16 to 17 under the theme “oneness in Christ” at Aitlenden Baptist Church. Limasangwa, youth director and Chubayanger, general secretary TLBA youth department has invited all to attend the meet. DPSU freshers’ meet DIMAPUR: Dimapur Phom Students’ Union will hold its freshers meet on October 10 at Town Hall, Dimapur. The union has informed that Dimapur Municipal Council chairman, Khekaho Assumi would grace the function as chief guest while EAC Niuland, Manpei will be guest of honour with Phom Union Dimapur president, Pongshi as a special guest. All members have been requested to attend the programme. Seminar on tribal societies Kohima: The two-day national seminar on tribal societies and the challenges of modernization in North east will be held on October 9 and 10 at St. Joseph college, organized by Department of Sociology, St Joseph college, Jakhama. The seminar will be inaugurated by Prof. K. Kannan, Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University Kohima on October 9 at 9.30 am. FGN Oking terminates 1 DIMAPUR: The council of Leacy Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), Oking in a meeting held on October 8 at the resident of Kiheto Sumi, president Sumi region has resolved to terminate Yehokhe, Tatar on account of anti-social activities. According to a press release issued by Hekhuvi Achumi, Medan Piyu NNC/FGN Sumi region, Yehokhe has gone against the rules and principles of FGN and so has been discharged from the government according to the ‘Yezahbo of the Federal government chapter 16, Article 74’. IGNOU inform teacher trainees DIMAPUR: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has informed teacher trainees (UGT) sponsored by the state government to undergo training under CPE programme and enrolled under DIET, Tuensang and DIET Mokokchung for the session July 2009 that induction- cum-workshop for the programme would be held from October 19 to 24 starting 10 am at DIET Tuensang and October 23 to 31 at DIET Mokokchung. For further clarifications, teacher trainees may contact programme in-charge of their respective DIET centres or the regional centre, Kohima at 0370/ 2260167, 2260366 during office hours. VDB Mhaikam clarifies DIMAPUR: Village Development Board (VDB) Mhaikam village secretary, Izwalung has clarified that the new item ‘Notes of gratitude NCP Peren A/C’ which appeared in some local daily was without his knowledge and is ‘totally false and baseless’. The secretary has appealed to responsible person who published the article not to repeat without ones concern.
