NNP+ grateful to stakeholders

The Network of Naga People Living with HIV and AIDS (NNP+) has welcomed the support extended by all stakeholders of government, civil societies, Churches, municipal councils, defense personnel, student community, particularly the media fraternity in carrying forward the issues of HIV and AIDS more meaningfully. Chongtie, President, NNP+ in a press communiqué also clarified that some minor statistical figure that appeared in some local daily, Dimapur with 1822 HIV positive cases and 25% of the total population should be read as 1822 HIV positive case reported in Dimapur district. The Network further appealed to all the citizens of Dimapur to come forward and join them to consistently fight against the disease, adding that according to UNAIDS 2007 Global AIDS report, an estimated 33.2 million people worldwide were living with HIV, while an estimated 2.5 million became newly infected with HIV in 2007.
