Mao Youth of Dimapur organised a day long get-together program on the theme ‘growing together’ at Don Bosco School Auditorium, Dimapur.
Significance of the program was highlighted by general secretary Mao Hoho Dimapur Hepuni John. He said the programme was organised to allow platform for Mao youth from various sectors of Dimapur to get to know each other.
“We are a small community but we need to be united and disciplined” John stressed in his Prelude of the program while stating his observation that youth life today was faced with a lot of pressure and confusion.
Individuals from diverse field of work exhorted the gathering. Rtd. Er. Kolakhe Ashiho, a senior citizen of Dimapur paying tribute to youth life stated that all beauty and glory of God was manifested in a youth.
Highlighting the various social issues such as alcohol, drugs, HIV confronting the youth and society today, K. Ela, Director of Prodigals’ Home, stated that in many fields of work there were strict criteria imposed but there were no criteria imposed on anyone to do good and be a good human being. Appealing to youth to never lose their identity while creating their own situations rather than situations creating them she challenged the youth to fear and put their trust in God.
Fr. Salew Peter, sdb, and Kaini Khekho Kikon, Head Mistress of Pilgrim School Dimapur, and Rev. Loli Kape, Pastor DMBC shared on ‘Youth and Our Culture’, ‘Youth, Education and Career Perspective’, and ‘Youth and Spiritual Life’ respectively. Invocation was pronounced by Hepuni George while Besü Ekhe, Pastor MBC Chumukedima pronounced the benediction.
