A second half goal from Tiasunep upset 2005 winners SAI, Dimapur as Nagaland Police romped into in the final of the 15th Youth Soccer Championship (YSC). The championship is organized by Classic Club, Kohima on the theme, “March on the front”. Nagaland Police will now take on Excel United Club, Kohima in the final at 3 pm on Thursday. Tiasunep scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute when his well calculated long range shot, probably the best goal of the tournament beating the advancing rival custodian Sentimeren to give the Nagaland Police B the crucial victory. The only chance for equalizer for SAI Dimapur was awarded in the injury added time, but Chubatemjen’s header inside Nagaland Police box hit the cross bar and bounced back. Earlier, in the 28th minute SAI’s Levio long ranger shot was brilliantly saved by the diving goal keeper Vizovor of Nagaland Police B. Nagaland Police B also missed a chance in 49th minute when Lipoksashi shot floundered widely outside. Two players- Alfred (Nagaland Police B) and Chingwang (SAI) were awarded with yellow card for unsporting behaviour.
