Teachers day celebration in Kohima DIMAPUR: Nagaland Minister for School Education & SCERT Nyiewang Konyak will grace the state level Teachers’ Day celebration as chief guest on September 5 at the local ground, Kohima. Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Nagaland, Banuo Z. Jamir, IAS will chair the programme. CMCF for Mokokchung DIMAPUR: Eligible unemployed youth for self employment in Mokokchung have been informed to collect application forms and guidelines for Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund 2009-2010 from the Office of District Planning Machinery Cell, Mokokchung during office hours from September 3 onwards. Forms will be issued on first come first basis with payment of Rs. 100. The applicant should be between the age group of 25 to 40 years and the form will be issued personally to the applicant on production of admit card/educational qualification certificate. The last date for submission of complete application form is September 14. President of Yingla Welfare Society Lomi Luckpan has informed interested candidates to contact 9436078448, 9436605407, 9436420202. 400 kgs of ganja seized from oil tankers Kohima: Kohima Police manning Phesama Police Check gate on wee hours of Tuesday seized 400 kgs of Ganja from empty oil tankers bearing registration number NL01 9156, which was heading towards Dimapur from Imphal. Police said the driver and handyman made good their escape while Police were examining the vehicle line up in the check gate to thoroughly check the vehicle. The vehicle is now in the custody of South Police Station, Kohima. Pipeline disrupted in New Secretariat area Kohima: SDO PHED Urban Division has informed that water pipeline to New Secretariat to assembly area were disrupted due to widening of road and landslide in the secretariat area. Restoration works might take at least one month before water supply resumes for which all consumers of the two areas have been requested to bear with the inconvenience. Mechanical employees meeting Kohima: All Nagaland PWD (H) R&B and Mechanical Regular Empoyees Union has convened an emergency general meeting on September 10 at 10 am at PWD (H) conference hall, Kohima to discuss important issues. The union has informed two members from each division and sub division to attend the meeting positively along with contributions, failing which action would be taken. Blood donation camp in Baptist College Kohima: Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State Branch in collaboration with NSBTC and assisted by Blood Bank, NHAK, conducted a voluntary blood donation camp at Baptist College Kohima on August 29. The camp was attended by around 30 YRC students along with the faculty members wherein 20 blood grouping was done while two students donated their blood. During the camp, an introduction to blood donation was delivered by Lucy Merry, assistant programme officer IRCSN while Alipoker, consultant VBD, NSACS, spoke on motivation and awareness. Nodal officers training deferred DIMAPUR: Orientation programme for Nodal Officers from the Directorates which was scheduled to be conducted at Administrative Training Institute Kohima from September 7-9 has been deferred. Stating that the change in dates had been necessitated as the proposed training coincided with another in the Institute, Disaster Management Cell associate professor, N. Moa Longkumer informed that finalized date will be intimated to the departments officially. Dimensions to release books DIMAPUR: Medical superintendent, Zion Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Maongwati will be launching book on ‘Grammar in practice’ and ‘How to overcome a job interview,’ at Dimensions Centre circular road, Dimapur on September 5 at 10am. Pochury syllabus revised DIMAPUR: Syllabus for the course of certificate and diploma for Pochury Language has been revised and aspirant language teachers have been informed to contact secretary (admn) or language officer (Pochury) for details. Pochury Institute of Literature secretary (admn) Zerüsie Nyusou informed that the syllabus was revised in the meeting held on August 22 at Meluri. Imkong Lenden colony informs public DIMAPUR: Imkong Lenden colony council has informed public that they would be conducting surveillance in and around the colony with a view to safeguard properties and lives of the colony. The council chairman B Pongao Phom and secretary, T Aotoshi informed that appropriate action will be initiated by the colony council without any fear and hesitation against defaulters. Zunheboto treasury informs pensioners DIMAPUR: Senior Treasury Officer, Zunheboto, Kughaho Zhimo informed that the verification of life and family pension drawers under Zunheboto district treasury would continue from September 7-27. All pensioners have been requested to come personally come for verification without which no payment will be made. Niuland area farmers society formed DIMAPUR: The Niuland Area Multi-Purpose Farmers Society formed on August 25 with an aim to help and educate the farmers through government proposed programme for the farmers of the area. The following office bearers were elected; Hovto Yepthomi as president, Tokiho Zimo as general secretary, Hozetho as treasurer and Khukiye Yeptho as finance secretary. DBC holds spiritual awakening and retreat DIMAPUR: A spiritual awakening and retreat was held in discipleship Bible College (DBC) Dimapur from August 28 to 30. The main speaker for the event was Chujang Aier, general secretary, International Evangelistic Fellowship, Mokokchung with five counselors from Dimapur. DWD informs on scholarship DIMAPUR: Directorate of Women Development has informed all parents/guardians of students receiving scholarship under Shrimati Pushpa Wati Loomba Trust from the Department of Women Development Nagaland, Kohima to submit the photo copy of final exam result of December 2008 to the directorate before September 11. GPS room inaugurated in Naga United vill DIMAPUR: Government Primary School Naga United Village room extension was inaugurated by Kekosie, DEO Dimapur on August 28. The rooms were extended under SSA scheme. In his inaugural speech Kekosie assured the villagers that more development will be implemented in all Government schools across Nagaland. He exhorted the teaching staff and students to work hard in their in their academic activities and compete with the best schools in Nagaland. VEC member Mase Vero extended words of gratitude to the DEO Dimapur for granting funds for the two room extension.
