Excel United to face Nagaland Police today

An exciting tussle is on the card when Excel United Club, Kohima takes on Nagaland Police B on Thursday at 2.30 pm in the final of the 15th Youth Soccer Championship (YSC). Excel United Club, Kohima and Nagaland Police B are playing their first ever final in the 15th year history. The championship is played on the theme “March on the front”, organized by Classic Club, Kohima. The chief guest for the final match will be Deo Nukhu, MLA, Adviser, department New and Renewal Energy, Art and culture and science and technology. In 2008 edition, they met in pre-quarterfinal match, where Nagaland Police B prevailed over Excel United Club 2-0. Excel United Club, started of their with a flier crushing Froster 5-0 in round one, edged out Rengma Students Union 2-0 in round of sixteen, crushed Burma Camp United Dimapur in quarter-finals and in semifinal edged out Seso FC 2-0. Nagaland Police B , on the way to final, thrashed Green United Boys 5-0 in round one, in pre-quarter-finals defeated Adroit Club 3-0, in quarter-finals humbled Addax Club 4-0 , piped out SAI , Dimapur 1-0 in semi-final. So far Excel United Club and Nagaland Police B teams have scored 14 and 13 goals respectively and yet to concede any goal.
