BSNL local calls to all NE states

State operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), in its attempt to provide greater benefits to mobile users of North East telecom circle, has introduced free roaming and local call facility between North East and Assam License Service Area. All BSNL subscribers of North East-II telecom circle comprising Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland would now make call to cellular customers of Assam Telecom Circle with effect from September 1. According to a press statement issued by NE-II Telecom Circle, assistant general manager (sales and marketing), the call would be charged on local call basis. Post paid customers would avail free roaming facilities while in Assam Local Service Area. However, pre-paid customers would not be allowed roaming unless specifically verified by state police department as per the guidelines of the Union Government, the statement said.
