Nagaland Police B lift 15th YSC

Nagaland Police B on Thursday emerged as the champions of the 15th Youth Soccer Championship (YSC) after defeating Excel United Club 3-1 in the final match played at local ground, Kohima, organized by Classic Club, Kohima. Ramesh Singh scored two goals. He found the mark in the 14th and 71st minutes, the first and the third goals respectively. He also received a yellow card for unsporting behaviour. The second goal was scored by Lipoksashi in the 25th minute. The lone goal for Excel United Club was scored by Mayangmeren when he converted the spot kick, after Keneisedelie was brought down by Imtilemba inside the danger zone, with referee awarding the spot kick in the 17th minute. The champions Nagaland Police B walk home with Rs.80, 000 cash, sponsored by Vodafone, running trophy and certificate, while Excel United Club, Kohima got Rs.35, 000, running trophy and certificates, sponsored by Khriehu Liezietsu and Avituo Sekhose (KLAS Enterprise).The prizes were distributed by the chief guest Adviser, department New and Renewal Energy, Art and culture and science and technology, MLA Deo Nukhu. In his address he congratulated the Classic Club, Kohima for organizing the championships for the 15th time and also donated Rs.50, 000 to the organizers. In the final match the function was compered by Ms Asano Zashu and Ms. Rukulu Kezo and the vote of thanks was tendered by Er. Keduozelhou Khruomo, tournament secretary.
