District Congress Committee Kiphire has alleged deputy commissioner Kiphire of misuse of funds meant for various developmental purposes for Kiphire district.
District Congress Committee Kiphire in its meeting frontals held meeting on September 15 at its Bhavan deliberated on the issues of mismanagement on fund for development in various sector. District Congress Committee Kiphire general secretary (admn) Chopise Sangtam in a press statement alleged that during the DPDB meeting held on August 5, the house declared that Rs. 50,000 each be sanctioned to departments for preparation of Mongmong –cum- road show at Kiphire, but “through reliable sources” the fund was in possession with DC Kiphire.
In another development work programme for the year 2009 under the Roads and Bridges department “improvement of Road from Murumi approach road Rs. 20 lacs”, DCC clarified that there was no such village by the name Murumi village under Kiphire district, and under the same department work programme on “Improvement of Work from Kisetong to Tsungar village Rs. 20 Lacs” It stated that at present there was no road connectivity between Kisetong to Tsungar which showed the example that funds meant for development under the district were “directly transferred to sitting MLA’s pocket” by giving un-existing location and village. The DCC also stated that most of the development fund meant for Kiphire District both from the state and central sponsored schemes were being handled by some vested officials and public leaders and said that DCC Anti-Corruption Committee will seriously view the misappropriation.
