Piaggio rolls out Ape truck Plus

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited has rolled out “Ape truk plus”, a four-wheeler cargo in the one tonne category. It would be positioned at a rung higher than the sub-tonne Ape Truk and offered a number of product benefits with a significant value for money package, Piaggio India CMD Ravi Chopra said at the launch function, stated UNI report. Tamil Nadu Transport Minister K N Nehru launched the new vehicle. Mr Ravi said the company has been a pioneer of light transportation solutions in India offering a range of three and four-wheeler vehicles that were customised to meet the diverse needs of cargo transportation in the domestic market. The new vehicle, powered by an 870cc twin-cylinder engine, offers a best-in-class mileage of 22 km per litre and was designed at Piaggios R and D Centre in Pune. “Its bigger load body ensured higher loading volumes and the vehicle was engineered for higher ground clearance and a capability to travel even in tough road conditions’’, he added. Mr Chopra said this vehicle was the second in the range of four-wheeler solutions and would set new standards in the one tonne category for light transportation needs. “Besides offering high levels of fuel efficiency and mileage without compromising on power, ape truk plus, priced at Rs 2.15 lakh is an amalgam of power and mileage that is unique in its category’’, he added.
