Tripura CM exhorts government employees to come closer to people

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has urged government employees, including top bosses of the state administration, to maintain a closer relationship with the masses and give the highest priority to the people. Addressing the inaugural function of new secretariat building in the capital, Sarkar said new infrastructure was being built to serve the people and his government would not tolerate any attempt to ignore the public by any official. “The capital complex, the most modern and one of the biggest secretariats of India, was set up to bring the ministers and administration together, which would expedite the decision making process and help the people in a better way. It is not a place of pleasure for bureaucracy, avoiding the people,’’ Sarkar pointed out. Sarkar formally inaugurated the four-storey and 268-room secretariat building yesterday in the capital complex where the High Court, State Assembly and state guest house will also come up within the next one year, besides a star-rated hotel, music and art college, bamboo and cane research institute, forest research institute and government medical college. According to UNI report, focusing on the overall development work of the state government, the Chie Minister said the positive approach of the state government as also peace loving attitude of the people had curbed insurgency in the state and as a result development work is now continuing unabated. He outlined that the government had given priority to development and claimed that Tripura was now at par with the country’s top six states in terms of educational infrastructure. He underlined that Tripura was the frontrunner in development parameters of the country.
