NTA to celebrate World Tourism Day

The Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA) would be jointly celebrating the World Tourism Day 2009 with the department of tourism on September 27 under the global theme “Tourism: Celebrating Diversity” at Naga Heritage Village (Kisama). Prior to the World Tourism Day on September 26, a social work, handicraft competition and an extempore speech competition by students of Colleges and higher secondary schools within Kohima would be organized jointly by NTA and tourism department. The objective of the competition in respect to handicraft is to identify the talented craftsperson and promote their products, and to create awareness through participation, and develop interest among the students community of the potentiality of tourism as a future career option for many upcoming students. Necessary transportation, lunch etc. shall be provided for all the participants, and the best three craftsperson and three students shall partake in the function and celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27, where prizes shall also be awarded which would include Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 for first, second and third respectively for handicrafts and Rs. 3000, Rs.2000 and Rs. 1000 for first, second and third respectively along with certificates of merit for extempore speech.
