Trainings and seminars held across state

ATMA Mangkolemba : Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Mangkolemba Block, Mokokchung conducted 2 days training-cum-demonstration on fish farming at Natanglu Fishery Farm from October 8-9. Selected FIG members from Mangkolemba block attended the programme. The programmme was chaired by Samuel Sangtam, BTT member. Dr. Rongsentemjen, Convener FIAC, ATMA Mangkolemba block in his key note address explained the importance of farm school and its function and benefit for the target group farmers. He also suggested the farmers to practice the advance technologies that they avail from the school. The resource person Lanu, inspector fishery conducted classes on topic related to covering breeding technology and composite culture, selection of fingerling and how to rear them in common fish pond. Demonstration on pre-stocking and post-stocking was imparted to the farmers’ student. Apart from classes and demonstration, there was also session for experiences sharing among the farmers, where Lima, farm manager fishery farm led the session. Tuensang: Nagaland Bamboo development Agency Tuensang district organized one seminar-cum-training for village bamboo development committee and self help group on Tuesday at Tuensang, under the initiative by member NBM-IT. Review accountancy and book keeping was explained with practical by H.A. Animal and veterinary husbandry. Member NBM-IT, M. Shakiba Yim also encouraged the village bamboo development committee and self help group to seize the opportunity of bamboo as bamboo was the main sources for all kinds of purposes in the state and urged the people to work hard for common lucrative of the society. 40 village bamboo development committee and self help group participated in the training. ATMA Satakha Block: A one-day training programme on winter vegetable cultivation was conducted by ATMA Satakha Block for SHGs on October 16 at Zhekiye village. SDAO & BTT convener Satakha, Hukhato Sumi on a key note address highlighted the objective of the training for increasing winter vegetable production and productivity by adopting latest scientific technology of farming. BTT member Satakha, Viwoto was the resource person at the programme and spoke on package and practices of various winter vegetable crops to meet daily consumption. The programme was chaired by Niheto F.D. and 10 SHGs from different villages participated. Training concluded with distribution of vegetable seeds and cash incentives. Noklak: Civil administration and government officers of Noklak town organized a four-day long seminar cum workshop at Noklak town from October 14-17 under the theme ‘Revamp’. The programme aimed at recognizing and exposing untapped human resources highlighting ‘civic sense awareness’, ‘career guidance and counseling’, ‘life skill education’ and culminated in a mass cleanliness drive on the last day under ‘clean Noklak’. EAC Noklak, Meren Chang welcomed and opened the event with theme exposition to the participants, and GTS Tuensang headmistress Anungla, DTO Tuensang Sanglee Chang, EAC Panso Japhet, SDPO Tuensang Ngou Khiamniungan, Wapong from Gabriel Ministry Tuensang and GHSS Noklak PGT Ahum Chang were the speakers at the programme. Civil administration extended its gratitude to all Heads of Departments and to those who have contributed in making the programme a success. Administration also thanked minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Land Resources Development, P.Longon for rendering encouragement and financial assistance. Dipuphar: A one day Village Anganwadi Board (VAB) training for chairmen and members was organized by the department of social welfare on October 19 at the Anganwadi complex, Dipuphar. The programme was chaired by Robert Odyou, supervisor and invocation prayer was by Anthony, secretary, Kirha village council. The welcome address was delivered by Akali Sema CDPOI ( R) who spoke on the duties and responsibilities of the VAB. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Narola Ozukhum, supervisor. 85 VAB members attended the training programme. KVK Aboi: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Aboi under Mon district conducted a one day training programme at Wakching village on October 15. Resource persons for the training programme Dr. Paihem Michui, subject matter specialist (Vety and A.H) KVK, Aboi imparted training on ‘disease management in livestock including poultry’ and stressed on the importance of regular vaccination and deworming to have a healthy livestock with better performance. 30 farmers including women farmers from Wakching and neighbouring villages attended the training. Medicines, vitamins and mineral supplements were also distributed to the participants. Meanwhile, Block Technology Team (BTT) Wakching block organised a one day training for women farmers on October 15 at Wakching town. Resource persons W. Shoyan Konyak subject matter specialist (AGR) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Aboi Mon imparted training on the topic ‘cultivation practices of pea and potato’ and also demonstrated on the field for higher income generation and employment opportunity. Seeds and bio- fertilizers were distributed to the 30 women farmers from Wakching village and town who attend the training Mon: Two- day sensitization training on Mid-day Meal, Communitization and SSA Program was held at Government Middle School Mon town ‘D’ on October 19 and 20. Deputy Commissioner Mon, Dinesh Kumar, IAS graced the inaugural function as chief guest. Resource Persons Nukshilemba Jamir nodal officer for Communitisation spoke on the topics , ‘Process of Inspection and Supervision to Communitised School’ , ‘Assessment of VEC/WEC/TEC and community contribution towards educational development works and activities’ , ‘The role of VEC/WEC/TEC in implementation of ‘No Work No Pay principle’ and ‘Maintenance of VEC/WEC/TEC Account and Audit’ while Pukating, Monitoring Officer, Directorate of School Education and S. Bongyong, Research Associate, State Mission Authority (SSA) Nagaland spoke on the topic , ‘Objective of Mid day meal scheme’ , ‘Duties and responsibilities of VEC/WEC/TEC/Teachers in the daily management of the cooked meal serving to the school children’ , ‘The role of supervising officers in the management of Mid-Day meal scheme’ , ‘Role of VEC/WEC/TEC in the implementation of SSA Program’ , ‘Maintenance of transparency and judicious utilization of the SSA grants’ , ‘Assessment of out of School and Drop out School Children’ and ‘Inclusive education’. The inaugural function was chaired by Manshah, SIS Mon Circle cum Coordinator EBRC, Mon and Opening Remark was proposed by Besuneyi Swuro, DEO, Mon. 230 VEC members represented by chairman, Secretary and women members attended the sensitization training program. ATI Kohima: A two-day training programme on environmental issue in development was held at the Administrative Training Institute, Kohima on October 20 and 21. 20 participants from various government departments attended the training programme. Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu, ATI and Prof. G.T. Thong, Nagaland University were the resource persons at the training. Topics covered during the training included ‘global climate changes: a geological perspective’, ‘climate and man’, ‘landslides and development’, besides case studies. The valedictory function was presided over by Er. N. Moa Longkumar, ATI who also gave away certificates to the participants.
