A three day sensitization programme on maternal health, immunization, H1N1 and communitisation for public leaders including VCC, VDB, pastors, deacons, women leaders, youth directors, student unions, youth organization and other NGOs concluded on October15 at Punghuri, Wazihu, Phor, Meluri CHC. The programme covered 32 villages organized by department of health and family welfare, Phek district.
Delivering the keynote address, Phek health and family welfare media officer Mhonchan Tungoe called upon public leaders for community participation in the health sector. Speaking on the occasion, district sensitization team, nodal officer Dr. Neisakho called upon public leaders to encourage families and individuals through community education to opt for hospital delivery, to spread awareness on adolescent pregnancies, to provide counseling on various services and aids. IEC materials were also distributed to public leaders.
