Learning a never ending process, says Chishi

MLA and former chief minister KL Chishi exhorting students of Pranabananda Women’s College said everyone needed to go through the process of education in order to learn the process of life. Speaking as the chief guest at PWC 18th freshers’ social -cum -annual function on Friday, Chishi lauded the college for providing quality education to girls seeking proper up-bringing in the society. He called upon the students to develop the urge to have an ambition and realize their purpose in life. Stating that there was no end to learning, Chishi further urged the freshers to learn to imbibe good qualities as they encounter obstacles, temptations and misleading in life. The college felicitated Director NEZCC, Hekali Zhimomi at the occasion for her contribution towards the development of the state. Terming her life and achievements as ‘a message that womenfolk of this blessed land have risen up from their age-old slumber to take their deserved position in the society’, PWC presented Zhimomi with a Scroll of Honour. In her acceptance speech, Hekali Zhimomi said that rewards of honor should not be an end to itself but culminate into greater acts. She dedicated the honour to late Manik Bhattacharjee of PWC and said she hoped students of the college would be honoured in future with the same which had been accorded to her today. Earlier in the programme, principal PWC, U.C. Majumder delivered welcome address and principal City Law College, P. Leonard Aier who was guest of honour at the function, also exhorted the students. The programme saw the inauguration of college magazine ‘Pranab Vision’ by chief guest and ‘Wall magazine’, and exhibition of handicrafts by Hekali Zhimomi. Highlights of the programme included performances on folk song and dances by students of various community and tribes.
