Flesh trade racket busted; 11 held

Altogether 11 females including two locals were arrested after Dimapur Police raided several places following reports of existence of prostitution in several areas of Dimapur. In the raid that took place Friday at around 11 a.m. in New Market area Dimapur , police raided Hotel Shuban and arrested 11 girls. They were identified by police as- Rasi Begum (20) of Assam; Pinky (30) of Assam; Ruby (20) of Surupathar, Assam and presently residing at Nagaland Gate; Priyanka (25) wife of Vicky a resident at Nagaland gate; Laxmi (17) of Assam and staying at Hotel Shuban, Dimapur; Kajal (26) of Assam staying at Hotel Shuban, Dimapur; Vachano Ezung (19) and Mary Lotha (21) both resident of Purana Bazaar; Rupa Sharkar (20) of Guwahati and Maina Begum (15) of Assam both staying at Hotel Luxury Inn, Dimapur and Masuda Begum (15) of Assam, a resident of Naga Cemetery. Police also caught three male clients who were at the scene. They were identified as - Sanu Sarkar a resident of Diphu Railway Station; Durlar Acharjee a computer instructor and supervisor of a reputed school in Dimapur and Naseeb Momin a resident of Eralibill, Dimapur. Rasi Begum, also arrested earlier for the same offense, told police that the girls used to entertain 15 to16 clients per day.
