The Kuda (Dimapur) Angami Students’ Union held its 47th annual Freshers’ Meet cum General Conference at Town Hall on Saturday. Commissioner & Secretary Forest Department Nagaland, L.Kire graced the function as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest pointed out that it has become hard to comprehend the changes taking place around the world and people needed to move forward with unity in their approach. Stating that everyone has been created equally by God but people cannot be ‘equals’ in the ways of the world due to differences in spending and attitudes towards life, Kire urged the gathering to inculcate good practices and behavior. Kire called upon the students to excel in whatever they do with responsibility and not succumb to peer pressure. He encouraged students to look beyond tribal lines and further wished them to prosper so as to bring good name to the society.
Earlier in the programme, union treasurer, Keneizeno delivered the welcome address and sub inspector of schools, Sakhoto Seyie also exhorted the gathering. Other highlights of the programme included songs presentations and speeches by both freshers and seniors.
