WTCS observe foundation day DIMAPUR: The 6th foundation day of Woman Thrift and Credit Society (WTCS) of Ragailong Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur was observed on Saturday at its Colony in a simple function. President of the Society, Amei in her speech acknowledged the hard labour and progress made by its members for accumulating their fund into six fold from the initial sanction of merely of Rs 25,000 from the government. The President also suggested to set a specific goal of Rs.1,00,000 to achieve during the year of 2010 to 2011. DSAGBU select representatives DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sadar Angami GB Union (DSAGBU) has informed that Pukuolie GB and Thepfurüya GB have been selected from the Dimapur Sadar Angami Union at an emergency meeting on October 16. The GBs were selected to represent the Angami Naga tribe in the role of Dimapur Sadar GB union as well as Dimapur district GB Association for the present tenure as executive members. YWO general session held DIMAPUR: Yimchunger Women Organization (YWO) held its first general session at Shamatore Town from October 20-21 sponsored by Eastern Nagaland Women Organization with Ajila Peter BDO as chief guest. Vice president of the ENWO Kherila Keorun delivered the keynote address while Imkongliba ADC Shamator and R Thsanso vice president YTC exhorted the gathering. The session was attended by 225 participants representing 55 villages and four towns with Hanji PS to parliamentary secretary and Temsula, AIR Kohima as resource persons. IPM training held in Baghty DIMAPUR: Department of Agriculture under SDAO, Baghty conducted farmers training and demonstration programme on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on October 21 at Merapani. SDAO Baghty highlighted on importance of healthy crops, its observation, destructive and defenders pest. Mhonchumo, AFA urged the farmers to protect and biological controls for IPM and proper use of pesticides and life cycle insects were also discussed. The programme culminated with free distribution of equipment and accessories of IPM and winter vegetables. NLA staff exposure trip to Doyang DIMAPUR: Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, organized a one day exposure trip-cum-picnic, at Doyang Hydro Project, across Doyang River under Wokha district on October 23. Speaker NLA, Kiyanilie Peseyie expressed gratitude to general manager and officials of Doyang Hydro Project for the warm hospitality and welcome accorded to them. GM, Doyang Hydro Project highlighted on activities and functioning of the Project, while school students enthralled the crowd with a special song.More than 300 staff and dignitaries including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Ralanthung Yanthan, Secretary NLA, A.E. Lotha and State co-ordinator LFA, Dr. Vinito participated in the exposure- cum- picnic.
