NSWON: National Socialist Women Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) while condemning the murder of Ramchanphy on October 24 said that Delhi authorities were trying to invent excuses to protect the culprit. NSWON, in its executive meeting, took strong exception to the racist attitude of Delhi authorities. NSWON in a press note said by proving the culprit as a pervert, Delhi authority thought it would save the image of their institutions while on the contrary, questioning the mental state of the culprit in such obvious case of homicide was a deliberate perversion of the course of justice. It also questioned “If this is not a case of racism, what is? When it is already established beyond doubt that Ramchanphy was killed as she struggled against the rapist and when the accused himself had confessed to the crime, what more evidence would any humane law ask for further investigation in order to convict the culprit?” NSWON further said “You have killed thousands of our men, raped hundreds of our women and children and justified your actions by giving us such provoking names as barbarians, insurgents, rebels, terrorists, renegades, extortionists. All forms of injustice sown by you continue to prowl in our land. Naga women can never forgive the Indians!” NMA: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) expressing dismay over the recent “brutal and barbaric killing” of late Ramchanphy Hongray in Munirka, New Delhi October 24, on Thursday said the incident had seriously made it think where “we are heading to?” “Where are the leaders who called themselves as protectors/voices of the people,” NMA president Abei-u Mere said in a statement. The NMA stated “the gory stories of how our children bear the brunt of the so called perverted/ maniac persons never seems to end.” Further, pointing out that mothers value everyone’s life as precious, a gift from God, Mere said it was “our right” to protect and respect irrespective of caste, religion or race. The Naga mothers also maintained that it has been advocating that any kind of killing or violence should be stopped. “Enough has been said, but nothing seems to work when it comes to North East people,” NMA president lamented. Calling upon every right thinking citizens of India to demonstrate their concern and support by curbing this “satanic action” once and for all, the NMA statement said: “Value our life as much as we value your life”. It also assured the family members that Naga mothers were with them. NSF Former Assembly secretary: NSF Former Assembly secretary of Naga Students’ Federation R Phyolumo Tsopoe has condemned the cruel murder and molestation of a 19 year old Naga girl from the Tanghul tribe. He said rape and murder of Naga girls took place outside Nagaland very often, especially in Delhi where they are engaged in doing jobs as getting a government job in Nagaland was beyond their dreams and private firms like sugar and paper mills were not working as the government had not been managed. If the firms were open there would have been some solution to unemployment problem and Naga boys and girls would not have been compelled to go to ‘dangerous’ Delhi. He further stated that government of Delhi should award Pushpam Kumar capital punishment so that such heinous crimes and barbaric activities do not occur in the future, ENSF: Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) has condemned the incident where Ranchanphy Hongray was molested and murdered brutally in the national capital, Delhi on October 24. Condemning the act, the federation stated that brutal act should not have any space in society and the culprit should not be left scot-free. The federation also appealed the authorities in dealing with her case, not to cover the culprit by “imagining his fictitious suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder”. Federation also called the Nagas and North-East to voice out New Delhi’s loose security system and neglect of human rights, especially to North-easterners for not enabling to provide security to its citizens even after such happenings and occurrences in the past. ENSF also conveyed our deepest condolence to the bereaved family and has also directed ENSU Delhi to extend co-operation in this regard. BJP: BJP Nagaland State has condemned the murder of Ramchanphy Hongray on October 24 in Murnika, Vasant Vihar at New Delhi. A press release issued by Party secretary Mar Pongen stated that state BJP leaders have demanded the culprit to be punished under the law of the land and urged all sections of people to condemn such barbaric act and heinous crime.
