Nagaland awarded for RSBY performance

Nagaland was awarded for its outstanding performance in Programme Implementation of RSBY in the North Eastern Region during the National Conference on Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) at Trivandrum, Kerala. Project Officer, Directorate of Labour, Yanger Aier was also awarded the Outstanding Individual Contribution award in Programme Implementation of RSBY. The two day conference which started on October 28 was attended by Union Minister for Labour Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister of State for Labour Harish Rawath; Union Labour Secretary Prabhath. C. Chathurvedi; Chief Minister of Kerala V.S. Achuthanandan, representatives from the World Bank and a host of dignitaries both from the Central Government and State Governments from all over India. RSBY is a health insurance scheme under Government of India, through Ministry of Labour for the unorganized sector workers. Nagaland State had taken the lead in implementing the RSBY scheme in the North East, for which the Central Government had called the state “Gateway to the North East for RSBY”.
