The Yaruiwo of GPRN has granted retirement to B. Chumchamo Ezung, Education Kilonser on health grounds as per his request on October 31
According to a release issued by NSCN (IM) chief principal secretary Samson Jajo, BC Ezung was born on 10 July, 1934 in Yonchucho village, Wokha. He graduated from G.U and also acquired a B.Ed from (NEHU). He then joined national service in 1953 and became youth secretary, Lotha Region till 1958.He was promoted to ‘Major’ in 1963 and went to East Pakistan (Bangladesh) to receive better training in 1964 and became second in Command 16th Bn Naga Army in 1964-65. Appointed as ‘Brigade Major’ of 6th Brigade Naga Army in Central Command-1966-68, he became Central Executive Member from Lotha Region to FGN in 1968-73 and then president, Lotha Region, NNC 2000-2001. He then joined NSCN on June 29, 2002. President Isak Chishi Swu nominated him in the Tatar Hoho-2002 and he was made Deputy Education Kilonser in 2005 and then upgraded to Kilonser Education on 25th May 2008. The release also stated that Ezung sought retirement on health condition. Meanwhile, ‘Major’ BC Ezung has announced his retirement from active service and in a message, saluted all ‘freedom fighters’ and prayed that God bless them with peace and prosperity.
