Commemorating silver jubilee (1984 – 2009) of Tangkhul Baptist Association Nagaland (TBAN), Justice Wungazan A Shishak on Friday unveiled a memorial stone to mark milestone of the association at newly bought site for Mission Compound in Kushiabil, Dimapur.
Speaking at brief programme, Justice Shishak recalled the days about how the Tangkhul community was before the Tangkhul Baptist Association Nagaland came into being 25 years ago.
“It was not in my wildest dreams that I would live in Dimapur. But everything is in God’s plans. The Lord has brought us this far and today we are all here counting His promises,” he said and called upon the people to come together to build God’s Kingdom. Mention may be made here that though there were Tangkhul churches in Nagaland, prior to 1984, there was no association of all Tangkhul Baptist churches in Nagaland.
The silver jubilee celebrations got underway at Diphupar Tangkhul Baptist Church on the theme – ‘Ithum sakaluishitsa’ (Let us rebuild ourselves). 1000 people from various Tangkhul churches from Dimapur, Kohima and Meluri are attending the jubilee celebrations which will continue till October 11.
