“Every jubilee celebration is the fruit of choices that the jubilarians made in their life” said Alex Pulimoottil SDB, Director of Salesian College of Higher Education in his welcome speech at the Eucharistic celebration. He added the quality of one’s choice determined the quality of life and the Jubilarians have chosen the road less traveled.
Fr. Nestor Guria, in his homily said ‘Jubilee is a time of introspection of one’s past religious and spiritual life and renew the commitment to live one’s vocation with greater fidelity’. He also opined that priestly and religious life should be a life of integrity and as a ministry of giving as well as receiving, giving to the people of God what we have received from Him.
Citing the Gospel, he said God has given talents to everyone and He wanted to trade with that to multiply and be productive in our life.
“Jubilarians are our inspiration and models” said Jose Palely SDB, during the felicitation programme held to thank, appreciate the jubilarians, for their selfless and dedicated service to the people of God in the North East. Songs, dances, instrumentals, choreography, speeches, brought back old memories and enthused everyone to live life more meaningfully and courageously.
