Three day farmers training on power machineries concluded on Saturday at SDO (Store) Dimapur agriculture office. The training was conducted for farmers of 11 districts to promote and strengthen agricultural mechanization.
Chief guest for the closing function joint director agriculture T.V Holo lamented that though state government had been providing seeds, machineries and other subsidies to farmers, many of the genuine farmers do not get even the seeds. “This is sad but true and is a serious issue.” He urged the 54 farmers to make use of the skills and training imparted to them and also to seek assistance from the resource persons for further prospects. He also said if farmers and government cooperate with each other there would be a good harvest and government was ready to assist the farmers.
Farmers were trained extensively on power tillers fitting techniques with M.B plough, water pump operational and its management, paddy threshers, paddy seeders, winnowing fan applications, animal drawn plough, paddy harvest, motorized sprayers, fitting of gear box, engine ring changing and its techniques, external accessories fitting and its requisite attachments system, lubricants and other oils function checking systems, trials and demonstration with full fitting accessories. The training was organised by department of agriculture in collaboration with Greaves Cotton Ltd., Kolkotta and VST tillers tractors Ltd. Guwahati. Earlier, programme was chaired by SDO (Store) agriculture Dimapur N. Jacob Yanthana and citations were presented to farmers. A. Guharoy Greaves Cotton Ltd., Kolkotta and Hazarika VST tillers tractors Ltd also spoke at the closing function.
