Union Home Secretary GK Pillai is reportedly arriving in the state capital Tuesday on a two-day official visit and is likely to meet cross section of the people in the state. On his arrival, Pillai is scheduled to call on state chief minister and his cabinet colleagues and later meet State Level Strategy Group. Later, he will meet various NGOs including the Naga Hoho, Eastern Naga People Organization, Naga Mothers Association, Church Organizations and State Government Officials at Hotel Japfu. He is also likely to call on the Opposition leader and the Congress Party top brass. After holding a night at Kohima, Pillai will meet the student organizations including Naga Students Federation (NSF), Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF), Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR). He is scheduled to call on Core Commander, 3 Corps, Rangapahar before his departure for Delhi in the afternoon. Confirming the report, state chief secretary Lalthara said that union home secretary’s visit was a normal official visit and as his first visit to Nagaland after assuming his office as Home Secretary. The visits of Secretary, Union Home Ministry assume significance with the crucial ongoing ceasefire between the Government of India with the NSCN factions and Naga political dialogue with the NSCN-IM which has remained without any achievement even after more than decade of dialogues.
