Internationally renowned rock band, ‘Mr. Big’, on their re-union world tour arrived in Dimapur for Wednesday evening’s concert at Dimapur’s DDSC stadium. The four-member band, comprises of Eric Martin (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Pat Torpey (drums). According to the organizers, gates at the venue(DDSC stadium) would be opened by 2 p.m. and no vehicles permitted inside. The show would also feature Indian bands like Motherjane (Cochin), Junkyard Groove(Chennai) and Nagaland’s very own Dementia as opening acts. Tickets are priced at Rs. 400 (gallery section), Rs. 600 (back section) and Rs. 1500 (front section). The Mr. Big re-union world tour, India Live Concert is being promoted by Neoclasse, a Bangalore based entertainment and Media Company in association with Kingfisher, Gargya Toyota, Nagaland Post and local event management company, Finishing touches. Meanwhile in an exclusive interview to Nagaland Post at the Niathu Resort here, the band said “Bangalore show was fantastic, Shillong show was amazing too… both of them. And when the lights are on behind us there are like thousands of people singing along, smiling and having a great time…fantastic. That was how it was for both of the shows. So tomorrow night it’ll be that and more here in Dimapur”. Performing for the first time in India Mr. Big’s comment on the Indian fans was “Fantastic, wonderful they sing along really good, when we play songs like Daddy, Brother when we stop, the whole place sings that part, its really cool…. It’s fantastic.” We have had a lot of travellings it’s been amazing…..this is what we do as musicians because we love to play ‘Rock and Roll’ willing to go through amazing amount of traveling. It’s beautiful when they know the lyrics, they can’t guess the lyric. It’s definitely the music that they hear. We just want to play and have fun.
