Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the CPM workers in West Bengal are up in arms once again. Led by leader of opposition in the state, Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool is demanding the arrest of the West Bengal chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee blaming him for clashes between CPM and Trinamool workers in places like Khanakul and Hooghly. Trinamool Congress leader Partha Chatterjee said, “We demand the Buddhadeb’s arrest, we are demanding seizure of illegal arms and rule of law. Why are we not being allowed to practice our politics in Thanakul, Gorbeta and Keshpur?” Trinamool alleges the CPM has unleashed a wave of terror after its debacle in the Lok Sabha election. The audacious Trinamool attack threw the state administration and the city police into a tizzy. As police cordoned off the Writers Building, Trinamool leaders like MLA Dinesh Bajaj were stopped from entering. State’s chief secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty’s efforts to stop the demonstrators failed and Buddhadeb returned to office escorted by police. “I will not let Writers Building be converted into a circus ground,” said Buddhadeb. Trinamool workers also blocked several roads in Kolkata and TC leader Mamata Banerjee was in no mood to let Buddha smile.
