GPS inaugurated in Terogunyu, Chingmei, Razhaphe

DIS Tseminyu, S Atomi Swu inaugurated the new Government Primary School in New Terogunyu village on October 9. Speaking as the Chief Guest Atomi Swu urged the community to develop a sense of ownership over schools and contribute their share of responsibilities so that the infant school grew from strength to strength, instead of depending on the department only. Meanwhile, two-day sensitization training on communitization, mid -day meal and SSA was conducted at EBRC Tseminyu on October 7 and 8 with teacher in charge, chairmen and women members under DIS Tseminyu. Role of VEC /WEC, monitoring and inspection, maintenance of VEC/WEC accounts and audit and role of VEC were covered. Atomi Swu, DIS Tseminyu was the nodal officer for the training and EBRC co-ordinator, TOTs and SISs were the resource person in the training. Other who attended the training included V Meayase, joint director, Nurumi and Akum from SSA Sakhrie assistant director and Zaveyi Nyekha, DEO Kohima. Chingmei village: Kindergarten school from LKG to Standard II, which was initiated in 1999 and overlooked by the community of New Chingmei village, was inaugurated as a Government Primary School (GPS) on September 25 by Minister for land resources and soil and water conservation, Longon. The minister in his address said, “This is the second seed I am planting, first one is the EAC headquarter and today the primary school. ECS should not leave the institution at this stage as government procedure takes time for implementation of the plan (posting) etc until government fully initiate and took up the school”. Other dignitaries who attended the inauguration included EAC Noklak, SIS Noklak, DEO Tuensang, and ECS Action Aid Project representatives. The school began with seven member committee each donating Rs.100 and started a business. ECS were granted an honorarium of Rs. 800 for volunteer teachers. Razhaphe village: Civil works at Government Primary School Razhaphe village which included additional rooms, boundary wall and toilet under SSA was formally inaugurated by DEO Dimapur Kekosie Angami along with his staff from Hokheto and Neivizolie from ERBC Doyapur and Niuland coordinator, Asst Dist Coordinator Freda, SIS Arenla and TOT Doyapur ERBC Yanger on October 13. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest and his officers encouraged teachers and parents to mould up children for a better future and also appreciated the village leaders for their cooperation in uplifting the school. Earlier the programme was chaired by teacher in charge Mhasilelie Kruse while pastor Razhaphe Baptist Church Tsizo Metha invoked the programme. School report was read out by VEC Chairman Neiphilie Kense with vote of thanks pronounced by VDB secretary, Razhaphe village, Thepfutuo Kense.
