Sensitization of MDM, SSA conducted in Dimapur, Wokha, Bhandari

With the rest of the state, Dimapur District Inspector of Schools conducted its two days training workshop on ‘sensitisation of communitisation, MDM and SSA programme on October 14 and 15 at Town hall. 460 delegates comprising of VC, Chairmen, secretary and women representatives under Doyapur, Medziphema and Kushiabil block attended the programme. Resource persons for the training included Khehoni Zhimo, deputy director and nodal officer who dwelt on assessment of the VEC, WEC performance towards the educational development. According to District Inspector of Schools Dimapur Y. Khetoshe Yepthomi other topics included implementation of SSA programme, maintenance of transparency, audit, ‘no work no pay’ supervision of MDM etc which was presented by EBRC co- ordinators, DMA-SSA experts, trained SIS and accounts. WOKHA: Sensitization training of VEC/UEC/CEC for communitised schools under District Inspector of Schools Wokha was held on October 9 and10 at GPS Wokha town ‘C’ sector. DC Wokha, Wepretso Mero spoke at the programme and exhorted participants to use all SSA and MDM Schemes judiciously for the improvement of school infrastructure. A press release by District Inspector of SchoolsWokha, Solanthung Lotha stated that with the exception of some remote schools, all VEC chairmen, secretary and women representatives attended the training. Participants were asked to use the SSA and MDC scheme for the improvement of the School improvements. The Deputy Comminssioner Wokha who also delivered the opening remarks which touched on the role of the VEC for proper management of the schools. SIS Subenthung, O/A SSA P. Zubenthung, P/A Bijamo, ADC SSA Betrand and SIS Thechamo Tsanglao were the resource persons at the programme. BHANDARI: Meanwhile, sensitization on communitisation of SSA, MDM, accounts under deputy inspector of schools Bhandari was held on October 12 and 13. Resource persons were DIS, Bhandari, nodal officer Wokha district, sub-inspector of schools Bhandari and ToTs from EBRC Bhandari. The training discussed topics including role of VEC, WEC, UEC in implementation of SSA programme, maintenance and transparency and judicious utilization of SSA grants, objectives of MDM schemes, duties and responsibilities of VEC, UEC, WEC teachers in daily management of cooked meal served to the children, maintenance of account and audit for MDM scheme, role of supervising officers in management of MDM scheme, role of VEC, UEC, WEC in implementation of “No work, no pay” principle, assessment of out of school and drop out children inclusive education, assessment of performance of the VEC, UEC, WEC and community towards educational development works and activities and process of inspection and supervision of the communitised schools.
