NPF Phek division responding to a statement of Phek DCC in regard to “certain allegations” against the ruling DAN government has asserted that it was high time for Congress workers to realize policy of equi-closeness pursued by DAN government was acceptable approach for the Naga people. The division maintained that Naga society irrespective of political ideology were coming together towards unity, reconciliation and understanding and that the progress of reconciliation process was the ample justification of equi-closeness policy reaping positive dividends.
Phek division further asserted that the DAN government’s policy as facilitator at all levels has been accepted by all sections of people has taken every possible step to create conducive atmosphere at all levels amongst all sections.
However, the division claimed that those sections following the equi-distance were the ones dividing the society and appealed them to make positive contributions towards achieving the desired goal of oneness rather than maintaining distance.
In regard to the NREG scheme, the division president, Chivotso stated that any centrally sponsored scheme was meant for the welfare of the people and DAN was ‘judiciously implementing it’. It further stated that ongoing construction of various roads in Phek district is being carried out by the “reputed Contractors” and cautioned the Congress party to acknowledge the good works being carried out instead of trying to find fault and criticism.
