Inter-school literacy meet in Zunheboto

The first inter school literacy meet organised by All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) was conducted at Zunheboto on October 16 with Col. R.R Singh SM, Commandant 27 Assam Rifles as chief guest. He exhorted the students to work hard to excel in life and that students should seek quality education. He also expressed hope for brighter Nagaland and for which he urged students to play positive role in the traditional period of the society. The literacy meet was held on the theme ‘Engendering excellence’. 800 students from 18 schools within and outside Zunheboto attended the meet. Highlights of the programme included competitions and felicitating students who excelled in various examinations in the current year. In the second session former principal government higher secondary school Zunheboto Niholi Shohe exhorted and distributed prizes to the winners. Further, Sumi Students Union has expressed gratitude to all schools and individuals for making the programme a successful event.
