News channel launched in Kohima

Keditsu News (KN)), a private cable news channel was formally launched on Sunday at the state capital with an aim to disseminate local news and events through various cable television networks in Kohima and Dimapur. The channel was formally launched by Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA Chairman Nagaland Village and Khadi Industry Board in a simple function held at the office of the new news channel, near South Police Station, Kohima. He also inaugurated the newly constructed studio of the news channel. Addressing the occasion, Dr Nicky said that the media played a very important role in the society and also encouraged the media to play a positive role by not only criticising but acknowledge good and positive things. He also extended his best wishes to the Keditsu news channel, at the same time reminded the three important Ts – things take times. Further, he wished that the news channel which was launched as a weekly news channel would soon be a daily news channel. In a press handout, Keditsu News stated that it was launching a Weekly News channel which would telecast local news and events weekly by the weekend at Kohima and Dimapur through various cable operator initially and later to other parts of the state. The core of the news channel will be on current local news and the channel will be collaborating with various local newspapers and independent and in-house news and television reporters, it stated. The news broadcasts on KN News will initially be a weekly affair before culminating into a daily news show broadcast every evening between 5-6 pm local time. KN News is the brainchild of Duosanyü Keditsu, the managing director, who is also the proprietor of NM Cable Network, one of the major cable television networks in the state capital. He is supported by two in-house producers Angulie and Stephen. KN News has its own television studio and editing centre with a wide area of expertise including audio and video editing, video coverage and mass production of copy righted CD-DVD.
