The main accused in a human trafficking racket in which three young girls were sold off to brothels in Mumbai, was nabbed by the Women Cell personnel led by ASI Asangla from a house at Khermahal on Sunday around 7 pm. It may be recalled that the accused identified as Jamal Choudary (25) reportedly a habitual offender and in connivance with a couple, who were earlier arrested, had enticed three Naga girls with promises of jobs in Mumbai. However, on arrival, the three girls were sold off to a brothel in Mumbai last month. One of the victims managed to escape and return back home. However, the fate of the other two was yet to be known. The girls, all under 18 were taken to Mumbai somewhere around April,2008. The victim escaped from the brothel after being forced into the flesh trade for six months. She then met an Assamese lady and narrated her tale after which she was helped to go to Delhi. In Delhi, she met her cousin studying there and was provided help for the return journey home. Meanwhile, police added that further investigations were going on to trace the two remaining girls.
