Nagaland State Cooperative Union (NSCU) organised the inaugural function of 56th All India Cooperative week celebration which is being celebrated all over the country from November 14 – 20. Cooperative flag was hoisted by NSCU president N. Niza Angami while CEO Imtinungba presented the keynote address on the ‘Cooperative democracy and good governance.’
He explained that cooperative had its unique identity from other forms of economic enterprises in being democratic and autonomous and that membership was the most important entity in cooperatives He said all members have the right in decision making by equipping themselves with the requisite knowledge and training and attaining the objectives of the cooperative.
N. Niza Angami in his presidential address explained the significance of the celebration. He also elaborated on the theme of the celebration ‘Cooperatives as an efficient and effective business model in the global economic slowdown’. He said cooperatives had also shown stability and sustainability and have successfully been able to compete with other forms of business organizations.
