A mass social work involving all frontline staff and ministerial staff under Dimapur district was organized on November 13 at Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar. Cleanliness drive and jungle clearance both in and around the park was done including maintenance of patrolling road inside the park. Around 350 staffs including Commissioner & Secretary, L. Kire; Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden Nagaland, Dr. Shashidhar; Chief Conserator of Forests, Panger Jamir; Conservators of Forests, Divisional Forest Officers, Wildlife Wardens and Range Officers from both Territorial and Wildlife Wing participated in the social work
Meanwhile, Wildlife Wing along with district administration carried out wildlife raid in markets along NH-39 (between Kohima & Dimapur) on November 12 where a number of wildlife products were seized and destroyed. A press release by OIC Nagaland Zoological Park, Obed Bohovi Swu stated that Wildlife Wing has appealed to all citizens and general public to desist from destroying wildlife wealth.
