NSBSG culmination meeting KOHIMA: Meeting of organizing committee of state level culmination programme for celebration of 100 years of Scouting in India has been convened on November 20 at 11 am from NSBSG state headquarter office, Bayavu Hill Kohima. The meeting will be chaired by Dr.Shurhozelie Liezietsu, Minister for Urban Development, and Higher & Technical Education & Chairman of the organizing Committee. All members have been requested to attend the meeting. NCLA formed DIMAPUR: Nagaland Coal Licencees Association (NCLA) was formed on November 17 for the first time in Nagaland. The Association in its first meeting discussed the matter relating to ban on coal by the government of Nagaland and resolved to approach the government for lifting the ban on coal with immediate effect in the interest of the public. This was stated in a press note issued by NCLA secretary Amet Konyak. NU notifies B.Ed candidates DIMAPUR: Nagaland University has notified that educational and mental measurement of paper VII and serial number (e) has been added for B.Ed final examination on December 16. Assistant registrar (exams) Otova Swu informed that all other parts of the programme would remain the same as notified. Exam would start from 10 am to 1 p.m on the subject elementary education, population education, environmental education, educational administration and management and educational and mental measurement. TPGSU (NUKC) freshers’ day DIMAPUR: Tenyimia Post Graduate Students’ Union, Nagaland University Kohima Campus will hold its 7th freshers’ day on November 21 at Ura Academy Hall at 11am. NPCC president, K. V. Pusa will grace the function. Union president has requested all semesters I & III members of TPGSU (NUKC) to attend the programme, failing which an explanation call accompanied with a fine of Rs.200 would be imposed on absentees. ZASA tournament deferred DIMAPUR: Zunheboto Range Students’ Union has informed that ZASA Tournament which was scheduled to be held from November 26 has been extended to November 30 due to unavoidable circumstances. EUNU-L welcome freshers DIMAPUR: Evangelical Union of Nagaland University Lumami (EUNU-L) observed its Fresher’s welcoming programme on November 15 at the university campus. The occasion was graced by Kuholi Chishi, principal, FAC, Mkg. as speaker, who was accompanied by her husband, Azheto, Lecturer, CTC. EUNU-L also requested all alumni of the University to uphold future endeavors and plans of the Union in their prayers to achieve and strive for a better and stronger ‘Christ-centered’ campus to fulfill the motto of ‘Changing the world one student at a time.’ LSBC diamond jubilee DIMAPUR: Lutshumi Sumi Baptist Church (LSBC) will be celebrating diamond jubilee on the theme ‘Proclaim Liberty’ from November 20 to 22. Aheto Kiho, Planning Chairman has requested all village members residing outside the village to attend the three days session at Lutshumi Sumi Baptist Church, Lutshumi Village. Peace Channel consultative meet DIMAPUR: Peace Channel will be organizing an inter-faith and inter-community consultative meeting with religious and community leaders of Peren District will be held on November 20 at 11:30 am at Jalukie Town Council Hall. Peace Channel Dimapur has extended invitation to all church, community and religious leaders of all localities under Peren District to participate in the meeting to be a part of humble initiative of the Peace Movement. KLSU annual social parting DIMAPUR: Kohima Lotha Students’ Union will hold its 37th annual social gathering cum election of new office bearers for the term 2009-11 at the end of November. In this regard, KLSU has informed all intending candidates to collect nomination forms from Computer Concept, opposite to War Cemetery and November 21 would be last date for filling up of nomination forms. Trade license renewal DIMAPUR: Despite repeated notice to businessmen under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to renew trade license for the year 2010, many have failed to adhere to the notification. DMC has in this connection directed all businessmen to renew trade licence on December 31, 50% of fine will be imposed to those failing to do so. Training for masons in Mon DIMAPUR: A training programme for masons of Mon district on ‘disaster management’ will be held on November 25 at 10 am at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall Mon. This will be followed by practical session. Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Dinesh Kumar IAS has directed all masons from the departments of PWD Housing, PHED, CAWD, DUDA along with private masons in Mon town to attend the training. NPF notifies on impersonation DIMAPUR: NPF central office Kohima has stated that it had not issued order to collect money from shops in Kohima. It stated that certain individual using the name of party president and had issued order to collect Rs 200 each from all non- local shop owners. Clarifying that the party has not issued order on money collection, NPF vice president Zaku Tsukru informed that public should not comply with such impersonation notice. Medical board Mon DIMAPUR: Meeting of medical board for government employees service confirmation/permanency/invalidation etc has been convened on December 7 and 8 at the office of Chief Medical Officer, Mon at 10 am. All heads of offices in Mon district have been requested to submit the list of employees on November 30. DIS Tseminyu informs DIMAPUR: The DIS Tseminyu has informed all ad hoc employees serving under it to submit applications personally for extension of service supported by necessary documents including first appointment order, government approval order copies (attested Photostat copies) on November 30 to the DIS office. Book distribution for libraries DIMAPUR: Director of art and culture, Kohima has informed all rural Libraries under Peren and Kiphire who are registered with the department to collect library books from directorate’s office within 30 days from November 16. Recipient libraries have been informed to submit their official round seals and secretary seal of the library. Books will not be issued to unauthorized persons without appropriate seals, the department informed. JNV observes strike DIMAPUR: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kohima under joint action committee of Employees Association/Forums of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti observed a one-day token strike on November 16 in parity with JNVs all over India in demand for introduction of CCS Pension Rules 1972 for employees and 10% special allowance to non-teaching staff.
