GPS class room inaugurated DIMAPUR: Government Primary School (GPS) Signal Angami village, Dimapur class room extension constructed under SSA was inaugurated on November 11 by Y. Khetoshe Yepthomi, DIS Dimapur. According to a press release issued by Krusenuo, I/C GPS Signal Angami village, the inaugural function was also attended by Jevika, SIS and Hokiye, co-ordinator EBRC. ATC Kuhuboto condemns DIMAPUR: Adhoc Town Committee (ATC), Kuhuboto town has condemned the shooting incident in Dimapur attempted on Khekaho Assumi, chairman Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) in which he was injured. Inaho Sukhalu, vice chairperson ATC Kuhuboto in a condemnation note has stated that at this point of time where all Nagas are striving for reconciliation, such type of act should be punished at the highest degree. The committee further wished for speedy recovery of the DMC chairperson so that he could continue with his work. Ahuna celebrated at Thahekhu DIMAPUR: School colony of Thahekhu village celebrated Ahuna festival with pomp and gaiety. The celebration was held at the residence of Y. Hewoto Awomi, MLA where various competitions on Sumi traditional games like top spinning, cock fighting, fire making and folk songs were presented by men and women folks. The celebration began with invocation prayer by Ihoto Yeptho while Rev. Dr. Yehevi Jimo, Pastor, Thahekhu Baptist Church, who pronounced the blessing. The programme ended with Ahuna feast prepared in a traditional method. Sensitization prog on communitization KOHIMA: Medical department under Kohima district completed a sensitization meet on communitization on November 12 at Kimipfuphe Primary Health Centre under Jakhama block. CMO Kohima, Dr. L. Ralte informed through a press release that the programme emphasized on the importance of community participation, contribution and other vertical health programmes. It was held at different blocks conducted in 11 sessions and attended by stakeholders. The resource team included Dr. L. Ralte, CMO Kohima, Dr. Avino, deputy CMO, Dy Meio, DPHNO, state assistant MI, Media officer. Ajiquami village expels DIMAPUR: In an emergency meeting held on October 16, Ajiquami village has expelled Shikato, son of Yekuvi with immediate effect. The Ajiquami village council in a release alleged that Shikato was a drug addict, mentally disturbed and also murdered two innocent persons. The village chairman Hosheto in a press release stated that villagers would not be responsible for any incident happening in the event that Shikato is released from jail. Awareness camp in Nchan village DIMAPUR: An awareness health camp cum seminar on TB, HIV and AIDS was conducted on October 29 at Nchan village. In the seminar CMO Peren expressed the need to prevent and aware these dreadful diseases. The team of doctors led by CMO Peren conducted the seminar and also distributed medicines to the patients and medicines for medical remedies were also distributed for each village leaders and ASHA workers. Meanwhile, Nsong Area frontal Organization has expressed gratitude to CMO Peren and his team for rendering the service towards the people of the area. PVSU condemns DIMAPUR: Pongidong Village Students’ Union (PVSU) has condemned the alleged rape and murder attempt on PVSU women coordinator T Rathunglo Humtsoe on November 19 at Vungoju Colony by Longshitung Yanthan senior havildar of 7th NAP and resident of Lakhuti village. A joint press release issued by PVSU president Yanajamo Tsopoe and general secretary N Amos Humtsoe stated that Longshitung committed the crime after the victim declined his marriage proposal. The release urged the authorities to award befitting punishment to the accused in accordance with the law failing which the union would not be responsible for any untoward incidents.
