Child Development Project Officer (u) Dimapur observed Integrated Child Development Scheme week on November 19 at Kevijau community hall.
According to a press note issued by Anou Sazo, child development project officer (u) Dimapur, Tulula Pongen, district welfare officer Dimapur spoke on nutrition. The celebration was marked by drawing competition among the anganwadi children and prizes were given followed by sweet distribution.
KIKRUMA: ICDS project Kikruma under Phek district observed the ICDS week from November 19. Some highlights of the programme included baby show competition, special song by Anganwadi children, distribution of sweets and prize distribution to winners.
The programme was chaired by Sienotho supervisor and the celebration concluded by providing mid-day meal to the children and refreshment to the mothers and community participants.
CHUMUKEDIMA: Dimapur (Rural) project under department of social welfare observed the ICDS week in Chumukedima 3 AWC on November 19. Some highlights of the programme included distribution of sweets, lunch and baby show where the first prize was bagged by 8 month old Mulungtok of Chumukedima 4 centre, second prize by 9 month old Namgyel of Chumukedima 3 and third prize by 9 month old Riyash of Chumukedima 3. Altogether 90 beneficiaries and village Anganwadi members attended the programme.
PFUTSERO: ICDS project Pfutsero under Phek district observed ICDS week on November 19. Imlitongzuk CDPO in the welcome address highlighted the objectives of ICDS scheme while supervisor Thorosie spoke on the importance of exclusive breast feeding with supervisor Lonshithung speaking on sanitation and healthy habits.
The programme highlights included a baby show competition, special songs by Anganwadi children, distribution of sweets and prizes. The celebration concluded with a mid day meal for the children and refreshments for the mothers and participants.
ZUNHEBOTO: ICDS week was also observed in Zunheboto on November 19 at the Youth hall by G Eleton Sumi CDPO (HQ) Zunheboto. The chief guest Govind Jaiswal IAS SDO(c ) in his speech expressed appreciation to the Anganwadi workers and helpers for bringing up the children in a befitting manner and encouraged them to be more enthusiastic for conducting pre school activities DWO Shikuto highlighted the objectives of the ICDS. The programme was attended by over 200 Anganwadi children GBs and public leaders and ended with games for the children.
MANGKOLEMBA: Along with the rest of the country, department of social welfare observed ICDS week on November 19 at Nokyu Ward AWC, Mangkolemba ICDS project headquarter with T. Sashi Jamir, CDPO as speaker. CDPO in his speech briefed on the services of ICDS which included supplementary nutrition, health check-up, referral services, immunization, nutrition and health education and non-formal pre-school education.
The highlights of the programme included distribution of sweets, mid-day meal and presentation of special songs and rhymes by children. The programme was attended by supervisors, 32 anganwadi workers and helpers, GBs, ward chairman, VDB members, youth club members, children and well wishers.
CHUKITONG: ICDS week was celebrated at Chukitong on November 19 under Wokha District at Anganwadi centre ‘A’ organized by CDPO Hebou Rio and Staff.
The programme was graced by EAC Chukitong and community leaders. During the programme, the community expressed gratitude for the work done by the Department for the community. Bichano FHW spoke on health awareness, importance of breast feeding and child care while supervisor Khocheo spoke on the ICDS schemes. Songs were presented by Anganwadi children followed by a special entertainment program for the children.
