Hitler denies getting show-cause notice

Adolf Lu Hitler R Marak, the rebel NCP legislator, who is to reply to the show-cause notice issued against him from his party, today denied of receiving any notices. “I have not receive any notices, but on receiving it. I will see if it’s to be reply would surely reply and if its not I will not,” Marak said. In fact, the NCP’s disciplinary action committee has slapped a show-cause notice to Mr Marak on November 16 with a week’s time limit for his alleged anti-party activities. Marak had revolted against his own party ever since the NCP-backed Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) government was ousted of power by the Congress. Owing to his rebellion, the NCP elected former deputy chief minister Timothy Shira as their chief whip. However, Marak had refused to pave way for Mr Shira to the post saying that he was never consulted for his removal. In fact, the opposition NCP in Meghalaya is virtually finding it difficult to keep its dissident MLAs from inching towards the Congress. The ruling Congress is already on a roll admitting non-Congress legislators into its party fold. Of the 15 NCP legislators in the 60-member House, two of them-Deputy Speaker Sanbor Shullai and its Chief Whip Adolf Lu Hitler Marak- are virtually in the Congress camp. None of the two legislators, however, dares to leave the party as they will be disqualified under the anti-defection act. Their only hope is if the party expels them as they will continue to be legislators, but NCP is unlikely to expel them.
