NUNTSA suspends total cease work

Following a written request from the VC, NU, the NUNTSA has decided to temporarily suspend its total “cease work” and resume normal duties with immediate effect. It however maintained that the criminal complaint lodged with the North police station, Kohima should be withdrawn latest by 12 noon, November 27. NUTA Kohima demands Condemning the FIR lodged against NUTA, CEC president, Rosemary Dzuvichu, general secretary, Dr. N. Venuh and NUTA Kohima president, Prof. G.T. Thong by the Registrar, Nagaland University, the NUTA Kohima has demanded withdrawal of the FIR within 24 hours. NUTA Kohima in a representation to the VC, NU said the FIR lodged against the officials was “unfounded, baseless and with malafide intentions.” NUTA CEC Meanwhile, the NUTA CEC has demanded that the “illegal” show cause notice issued to the NUTA Kohima president and NUNTSA president be immediately withdrawn. NUTA CEC president and general secretary through a memorandum submitted to the governor also demanded that the FIR lodged by the Registrar Dr. P. H. Naik on “serious false and fabricated grounds” against the four leaders of the NUTA and NUNTSA be immediately withdrawn. It was also demanded that the Inquiry Report of the state government on Nagaland University issues be released for public information in the interest of justice and public interest, within 48 hours.
