CSUD conference on quality education

Chakhesang Students’ Union Dimapur (CSUD) District observed its 31st general conference at Town Hall Dimapur on Saturday on the theme ‘Quality Education’. Delivering the inaugural address as chief guest at the occasion, Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers’ Union Dimapur president, Hukato Zhimomi called upon the youth to apply their minds and encouraged them to make the best of their abilities. He remarked that there was no shortage of talent in Nagas but people lacked the right guidance. He pointed out that young generation needed to be ushered in the right direction and be allowed to excel in what they have been gifted with. Zhimomi rued that parents were to be blamed partly and asserted that parents needed to be more aware of their children’s talents and allow them to choose their profession with the right attitude. He also stated that Nagaland had very less industries but taking into account the present changing times, chief guest expressed his optimism on the growing number of entrepreneurs in the state. He further encouraged student leaders to introspect on their duties and responsibilities in order to strive better in the future. Earlier, Dimapur Municipal Council member, Vekhosayi Nyekha exhorted the gathering and urged students to equip themselves with the theme of the programme ‘Quality Education’. Meanwhile, representative to Chakhesang Hoho Dimapur also spoke at the programme and called upon students to invest their time in their studies which would see them through challenges. Other highlights of the programme included presentation of souvenir and certificates to leaders and representatives of various villages and areas in under Dimapur district, songs by CSU Patkai Christian College and Sodzulhou Students’ Union, folk song by CSU Diphupar etc. Naga Idol 4 aspirant, Venetolu also performed at the first session. Welcome address and vote of thanks were proposed by outgoing president and general secretary respectively. Entrepreneurs Associates coordinator, Neichute Doulo was the resource person of the second session and spoke on “Career Guidance”.
