ICDS week observed at Chiephobozou, Chozuba, Kiphire and Mon

ICDS Week was observed at Ziezou Anganwadi centre on November 18 under Chiephobozou ICDS project by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Chiephobozou, Keneikesangulie and staff along with village council chairman and members, Anganwadi workers and helpers, women’s secretary, mothers and beneficiaries. The CDPO delivered welcome address and highlighted the objectives of ICDS week while supervisors, Menokhrielie and Zachamo spoke on importance of exclusive breast-feeding, nutritional status of children, nutritional values of locally available food, and the importance o health and hygiene, immunization and benefits of ICDS. Chozuba: ICDS Week was observed at Chozuba ICDS project organized by CDPO Chozuba, Bino Newmai and staff. The programme was attended by Anganwadi workers and helpers, children, mothers and public. Addressing the gathering, the CDPO stressed on the importance of breast-feeding and further urged mothers to maintain good health and give care in developing their children both physically and mentally. Supervisor Jolayi Rio highlighted ICDS packages and called upon mothers to help Anganwadi workers and helpers so that Anganwadi centers would be a good institution for their children. Chozuba town vice chairman, Vekho-o Nyekha also spoke at the occasion and expressed appreciation for ICDS schemes and policies. Kiphire: CDPO Kiphire under Social security welfare department observed Integrated Child development service (ICDS) week at Kiphire. The programme was attended by CDPO Kiphire Anganwadi workers parents and children’s. In his key note address, Nitove CDPO urged people to come forward for successful implementation of the ICDS scheme. Head GB Kiphire, Yangkimong appreciated the department for uplifting the status of the downtrodden especially the children, little children, pregnant mothers and the aged people. Lippongse KTC member who was also present at the occasion appealed the department to allot a plot of land for constructing of Anganwadi house and also asked the helpers to know the responsibility of their jobs. Mon: Department of social welfare, Mon district observed national Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) week from November 14 to 19 in every ICDS project head quarters. According to a press note issued by DTH Anthony, programme officer, the district had observed the week on November 16 at Wakching and Phomching ICDS Project, on November 17 at Mon and Tizit and on November 18 at Aboi and Tobu. At Aboi ICDS project head quarter, the week was observed by organizing public meeting chaired by Kemukum, supervisor. Further, the main speaker of the celebration was D.T. H Anthony, state programme officer who highlighted the purpose and benefit of ICDS scheme and also explained the package of six components of ICDS programme. The other speakers were vice chairman of Aboi Ad-hoe town committee, head GB of Aboi town and various political leaders from Aboi area.Meanwhile, various games were conducted for children and mothers and prizes were given to the winners.
