Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly Kiyaneilie Peseyie graced the general body meeting of Daklane Ward on November 6 and laid foundation stone of Panchayat building.
The Speaker who is the MLA to Daklane Ward exhorted the denizens to work together despite the fact that all were settlers from different tribes and villages. He opined that diversity should be the plus factor in contributing the diverse and rich different traditions, cultures and talents. MLA expressed happiness over the new road passing through the area and said that it would propel the process of development. He also urged the residents to sustain the much-cherished peaceful atmosphere that has come to Ward.
The Daklane Ward, he reminded was one of the oldest colonies of Kohima and as such should take the lead in possessing a good Panchayat hall. And the foundation stone laid should be developed to a full fledged hall.
The Councilor of Ward Neivor Rutsa said with the laying of the foundation stone, Daklane was today one step ahead of many wards. He lauded the constant assistance received from the Speaker so far, and urged the people to desist from relying on assistance alone but to make efforts to put in its own shares.
Panchayat office bearers were also elected at the end of three year tenure. With effect from this day Ghunakha Swu took over from Dominic Yazokie as Chairman, Vibeilie Metha from Pukhalu Kiho as Vice Chairman, Er. Kelechütuo from Daniel Kiho as general secretary, Rokovituo from Er. Kelechütuo as joint secretary and Keduophilie from Dr. Puse Legise as treasurer.
