Azo calls for peace, unity

Phek Welfare Union, Kohima held its 6th social meet –cum- annual picnic at the Highland Park, Kohima on November 7. Speaking on the occasion minister for health and family welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu called upon members of the union to maintain peace and unity. Azo also stressed on the need to change the mindset of the people and further urged upon the members to maintain work culture and dignity of labour so as to become a healthy and wealthy society. Later, the union acknowledged minister Azo, who hail from Phek village for bagging the prestigious award ‘Workaholic Minister’ for the year 2009 from the Confederation of Indian Universities recently. Further, the Union also acknowledged Vemuguo Hoshi, a National Gold medalist in the field of arm wrestling and also two journalists from the community Kuzhovesa Soho and Chizokho Vero. Earlier, the function was chaired by Veduvo Rhakho, convenor, Phek Welfare Union, Kohima while vote of thanks was proposed by Chivohu Vero.
