Mokokchung village agri link road known as Kupok Agri Link Road, about five kilometers from the village to one of the agriculture potential areas, constructed under NABARD, Rural Infrastructure Development (RIDE X) was inaugurated by Director Agriculture, Dr. Supong Kietzar on Monday.
This is the third Agri Link road constructed in the village to maximize production of crops in those areas.
Director, senior officials from the Directorate and the District Agriculture Office who were present at the inaugural function later visited the road and also inspected cultivation of fruits and vegetables in the area.
Speaking at the inaugural function Dr. Supong Kietzar said that construction of Agri link road was to help farmers undertake cultivation of various crops and to ensure that their produces reached the market easily.
He said that the state government had been undertaking number of agriculture projects to achieve food security in the state and called upon the villagers to get maximum benefits out of the road.
According to an official bulletin, the senior officers accompanying the Director thanked the villagers for constructing the link road as per the instructions and hoped that it would help to enhance the economy of the village. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the government, particularly the department of Agriculture for their assistance.
