19 militants surrender in Assam

Altogether 19 militants, including those of ULFA and NDFB, today laid down their arms at a surrender ceremony before the Army at Dinjan in eastern Assams Tinsukia district. According to a UNI report, defence sources informed that the surrendered militants included nine cadres of the All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA) and eight of the Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF). One cadre each of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) also laid down their arms. The militants deposited large quantity of arms and ammunition, including one AK-46 rifle, several pistols, guns and huge cache of ammunition.
