Responding to the landowners of four villages including Sovima, Tenyiphie, Virazouma and Chumukedima over delayed payment of compensation by the railway authorities, the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur Maong Aier today clarified that as per the agreed rates and terms the rate of acquisition of land for New BG railway line along Virazouma, Chumukedima and Thahekhu have been forwarded to deputy chief engineer NF railway, Maligaon. In a press statement, the deputy commissioner said delay in payment of land compensation depended wholly upon the NF railways as the agreement with the landlords had been signed in the presence of NF railway officials after several rounds of meeting. The DC further stated that any information pertaining to the subject could be obtained from deputy commissioner office, Dimapur.
