Congress Legislature Party meet DIMAPUR: Meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has been convened on November 25 at 1 pm at the official residence of Chingwang Konyak CLP Leader, Kohima, Nagaland. All members have been requested to attend the meeting. Dimapur Yachem Students’ Union DIMAPUR: Dimapur Yachem Students’ Union will hold its 7th General meeting on November 14 at 4th mile in the treasurers’ residence. All DYSU members have been requested to attend the meeting. KUD mass prayer fellowship DIMAPUR: Khrimitomi Union Dimapur (KUD) has requested all members residing within Dimapur area to attend a mass prayer fellowship on November 14 at Padum Pukhari Sumi Baptist Church. PVSU condemns robbery DIMAPUR: Pangti Village Students Union strongly condemned the November 4 incident at Worokvu-Dongti, Pangti, where three car borne unidentified miscreants attacked and robbed the passengers of a Tata Sumo which was on its way to the village. The robbers even snatched away an amount of Rs 24 lakhs from the NREGA secretary along with the belongings of other passengers. The union while condemning the incident urged the authority concerned to investigate the matter and book the culprits at the earliest. Free cataract operation at Jalukie CHC DIMAPUR: The National Programme on Control of Blindness (NPCB) will be conducting a free cataract operation camp at Jalukie CHC on the 1st week of December. The district nodal officer (DNO) Peren has informed patients to register their names in advance at District Hospital Peren and CHC Jalukie and to avail the opportunity. Health camp conducted at Nchen village DIMAPUR: A free medical camp was conducted at Nchen village under Nsong SC on October 29 where a total of 200 patients were treated, 23 blood samples for HIV test were taken besides sputum collection and ANC checkup. The team was led by Dr. L. Kuotsu CMO Peren, with Dr. N.Linyu MO Ntuma PHC and Dr. Phenriwang Newmai MO MMU, other health staff Kengimngaule STS (RNTCP) Rokosanuo BPM (Tening Block) Irile media officer, Samueal Seb, Lab-Tech ICTC, Tening PHC and CMO staff. Asukhomi Union Zunheboto Town condoles DIMAPUR: Asukhomi Union Zunheboto Town expressed grief over the demise of its two villagers, Lukheto Kiba and Tokheho Jakha who passed away on November 3 and 8 respectively. A release issued by the chairman of AZT, K Kakheho Yeptho stated that both the deceased were sincere and dedicated persons who worked and contributed a lot for the upliftment of the village community. The release also further expressed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. Agri ward members join NCP Longleng DIMAPUR: Agri ward members held a meeting on September 6 with the president NCP Longleng Town Council Imliakum Phom and LTC town member L Chingai Phom and decided to support Nationalist Congress Party to strengthen the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and parliamentary secretary RD & REPA S Pangnyu Phom. Daklane Youth Social organization condemns DIMAPUR: Daklane Youth Social organization strongly condemned the inhuman treatment meted out to Thepfürhie Metha on November 1 at New Market. A press release issued by the organization’s secretary Avilie Abraham Chasie stated that the method of merciless and cruelty inflicted upon the victim was beyond human comprehension which no sane person would ever do. The release also expressed sympathy to the victim and his family and prayed to the Almighty for his early recovery. ANTA annual picnic Kohima: The All Nagaland Taxi Association will hold its annual picnic on November 18 at Piphema. Informing this, ANTA president Keneingutuo Chielie has requested all the Taxi Owners and Drivers of the union to reach the spot by 9 am positively. It also informed that on the day no taxi will be allowed to ply and defaulters will be fine Rs.500 from the spot. Further, the release regretted the inconvenience cause to the public in this regard. VK AYOD condemns assassination bid DIMAPUR: The VK Area Youth Organization Dimapur (VKAYOD) has condemned the November 7 incident wherein an assassination attempt was made on the life of DMC chairperson Khekeho by armed miscreants. A release issued by the VKAYOD chairman Vikhese T Shohe and secretary Kainato H Labo stated that it has absolute confidence in the sate law enforcing agency and the government to book the culprit at the earliest but in event of failure it is all readiness to resort to its own course of action. The organisation further wished the victim a speedy recovery. Clarification of winning band DIMAPUR: As per clarification given by the Director, Music Task Force, Gugs Chishi with reference to the news item that appeared in a local daily on Thursday under the heading ‘System Band alleges bias report’, the director clarified that in the Band competition during the second day of Kiphire Road Show, System Band bagged the first position while Strive Band was placed in the second position, stated an official bulletin. DIPR clarifies on Viswema Agri Link Road DIMAPUR: In reference to the news item ‘inauguration of Agri Link Road at Viswema’ which was issued by DIPR in the Naga News on November 11, the word in the last line of the news should be read as ‘Z. Khel’ instead of ‘two khels’. EU Atoizu musical nite DIMAPUR: Evangelical Union Fellowship, Khelhoshe Polythenic Atoizu organised a musical fest in aid of fund raising for musical instrument on November 7. The occasion was graced by additional secretary (budget) finance department Kikheto Y. Sema. He exhorted the students to be humble and strive for excellence. He also asked the citizens to Asukhuto town to extend cooperation and work together for the betterment of the institute.
