Thailand may take part in Hornbill fest

Hornbill– the festival of festivals, which started as a state festival and later recognized as a national festival and then turned to international festival outlook with the participation of Koreans last year, is likely to see more international participation with Thailand expressing its willingness to participate in the forthcoming annual Hornbill fest. The Thai counselor Thoradol Thougruong who participated in the Road Show in Meluri last month is learnt to have expressed willingness to send Thai cultural troupe to participate in the forthcoming Hornbill festival. State parliamentary secretary for law and justice Yitachu, during a tête-à-tête with this correspondent recently revealed that Thai counselor proposed to send cultural troupe consisting of 30 members and another 30 tourist to participate in the forthcoming Hornbill festival. Thougruong also proposed that Nagaland make necessary arrangement for food and lodging to Thai delegates while the rest will be taken care by the Thai government. It may be mentioned that the Thai counselor who was so impressed by the rich Naga culture and tradition displayed during the road show himself personally participated in the half marathon race conducted during the road show.
